Partly it was because of the usual PiS incompetence (appointing the bumbler Niedzielski after Szumowski left - Szumowski had his faults but he did more right than wrong early on and might have been able to take in new information that appeared after March 10, 2020.... Niedzielski simply.... hasn't)

And despite what PiS say for domestic consumption they eventually always trot along after western countries...

Too many countries' governments (like Germany I'm afraid) are still stuck in March or 2020 and seem to still believe nonsense like asymptomatic transmission, contact transmission etc

There's no NPI that works to stop the spread of an airborne respiratory virus... it's gonna do its thing until it burns out. The best advice is to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a robust immune system and not stay cramped indoors worrying.

The Chinese communist policies adopted by western governments all have the effect of making small negative changes at the margins that balloon into making the death toll far higher than it needed to be....

In the airport business lounge you can not drink your coffee or eat in the lounge. You can get food or drink and then step outside of the lounge to consume it. Then you can come back in. Sooooooo even though everyone inside the F*******airport has a negative covid test, you cant even drink a F****** coffee! This is insane.

More like common sense. Drinking a coffee is not worth infecting yourself or others.

In a place where everyone has a negative test in the last 72 hours. I disagree. Its fine to eat and drink throughout the airport with your mask down while doing so, but not in the lounge because PiS has classified it as eating in a dining establishment.

A test is not 100% reliable. Why take a chance for something so trivial?

Todays, numbers, as somone said... most of the time countries look like they're either losing to or winning against covid... today is a big win

hospital admissions: -199 (not that many but the first Monday in several weeks with negative numbers... and 6 days in a row with negative numbers... so good

You don't need to sit for either. Not to mention that drinking coffee is hardly as essential.


Because that way people are less likely to cramp together, instead they spread out on the airport. It is a safety measure that reduces risk while not seriously impacting anyone. I'd prefer to sit down for a nice coffee myself, but it is not going to ruin my day if that is not possible. But don't ask me why the government that this measure is necessary, yet refuses to close the churches.

My guess is that outside there is more room to social distance.

It would be understandable if only the person who refuses to wear a mask were to be infected, since that would be his choice. However he will also infect anyone living with him, including those who might be especially vulnerable.

Indeed. Additionally where people sit and drink, they also often talk which as we know, increases chances of infection. One person with a false negative test could infect several others, possibly in different states. And all that for the right of sitting while drinking a coffee. Not being able to sit in a lounge is a small price to pay for the possibility of using air travel during a pandemic.

Did you come across a covid restriction that in your obedient Germanic opinion was a price too high to pay for the benefit received?

Obviously you did thinking that sacrificing sitting in a crowded Polish airport lounge to sip your coffee was to of a high price for the benefit that you were denied.
