Compare his data with what's here:

That source doesn't show hospitalization rates or percentage of positive tests which are both key metrics in determining the true threat level of the virus. So therefore Maf's numbers are more relevant.

Novichok

0.23% is below the noise level. If they started testing for uranium 235 half of Poland would be positive. Now what?

positive tests which are both key metrics in determining the true threat level of the virus.

Which has what relevance in your personal life?

0.23% is below the noise level.

Exactly.

Which has what relevance in your personal life?

Still pretending that you can't figure that one out?

Novichok
26 Jun 2021  #6696

Answering a simple question about you with a question about me is a sign of defeat.
No, I can't figure out how .23% matters to you because you don't know that, either, or you would have already said it.

I already answered the question a few posts back but you suffer from what I call the Orla syndrome.

Novichok

I already answered the question a few posts back but you suffer

No, you didn't. You gave me a lecture, not an answer to:

Name one decision you made based on the hospitalization rates.

Let me help you with this model: If the HR is A, I do X. If the HR is B, I do Y.

BTW, HR stands for hospitalization rate.

We've been down this road before on other threads, and when you DO receive a direct answer, couched in exactly the terms you requested, you just ignore it. So, like I said - Orla syndrome.

Novichok
26 Jun 2021  #6700

This place is special and not in a good way. A simple: Name one decision you made based on the hospitalization rates, could be answered with: I never did but I still would like to know.

That would have been the end of it. Here, it takes two days and dozens of posts, but it's me who has Orla syndrome, dementia, or whatever. Why did it happen now? It did because that honest answer would confirm that I was right and that some data like the HR is meaningless to those who are not running the health care system.

receive a direct answer,

You did not give a direct answer to: Name one decision you made based on the hospitalization rates.

Orla syndrome, dementia, or whatever.

Orla syndrome is very far from dementia. Quite the opposite, in fact. But you won't find it on google. Just call me the Lewis Carroll of the forum.

That would have been the end of it

Based on past experience of you, no, it wouldn't. However, I should say it's quite obvious how hospitalization rates influence the decision making of intelligent people.

Ok. The falling hospitalization rates made me so happy that I decided to bake a celebratory cake.

26 Jun 2021  #6704

Poor maf...Didn't know that his effort will make you gain weight.

BTW, what is your plan if the HR rate goes up? Sit in the corner and be sad?

Are you now channeling pawian?

mafketis

With or from?

Very good question. The thing is that, as in many countries, physicians have been incentivized to find as many deaths related to covid as possible and that's doubtless inflated the numbers.

Hospitalization rates are an interesting metric if followed over time. At the peak in april, rates were well over 30,000 so just over one thousand is a good indication that there's not much to worry about.

A wise person would ignore media hysteria, practice what level of caution they think necessary and track the numbers (especially hospitalization and deaths).

A foolish narcissist wants to detour every conversation into an argument that brings him attention. I'm not gonna play that silly game. Begone.

.Didn't know that his effort will make you gain weight.

Interesting how you automatically assume that I would be eating the cake myself whereas in fact I would be distributing it to the needy, in homage to Marie Antoinette.

if the HR rate goes up?

Distribute more cake to raise morale - and crank up the novenas.

I'm back! So here are Sunday numbers!

percent of positive test results: 0.23 % of 30,658 tests

hospital admissions: -32 to 1050 (5th day of negative numbers)

deaths: 5 (same as last Sunday)

from the previous day*: 7 day moving average of daily deaths: 21 (down 4)

*the source I use is a day behind and I'm too lazy to calculate on my own

Enjoy!

it's quite obvious how hospitalization rates influence the decision making of intelligent people.

What happens when a population of introverts, hypochondriacs, and obsessive compulsives is continuously bombarded with messages to seclude and disinfect themselves, for fear that China Virus prickle balls lurk everywhere, waiting to attack ?

What happens is that emotionally damaged people start driving bad politics and bad policy.
Just look at the damage being done to those who refused to be vaccinated from loss of their jobs to being rejected from universities to being denied to serve in the military.

Air travel will be next I would expect.
How many freedoms are we going to lose because of all this non sense ?

This what we learned from this virus nonsense:
1. "Democracies" are one memo away from a totalitarian hell Stalin would be too timid to impose.
2. Your chances of survival are higher as a homeless bum in LA than in a $10,000 a month "nursing home" in NY.
3. Masks are still worn by the scared imbeciles, unable to explain why they wear them after the covid mafia told them that they no longer have to.

4. The experiment to discover how obedient the sheep are has been a raving success. They are very obedient.
5. The Queen should have ignored the rules and take her mask off during the funeral. Now we know it was a cruel farce.

Good News !
The vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna set off a persistent immune reaction in the body that may protect against the coronavirus for years, scientists reported on Monday.

The findings add to growing evidence that most people immunized with the mRNA vaccines may not need boosters, so long as the virus and its variants do not evolve much beyond their current forms which is not guaranteed.

People who recovered from Covid-19 before being vaccinated may not need boosters even if the virus does make a significant transformation.

Those are good news indeed, lets hope it stays that way.

Novichok
28 Jun 2021  #6714

And if it doesn't, another lockdown or should we let nature take its course?

johnny reb
28 Jun 2021  #6715

Lockdowns will likely become a thing of the past once England emerges from restrictions in June, Professor Chris Whitty has said, as he suggested Britain will treat coronavirus like the flu in the future.

once England emerges from restrictions in June

That's already been put off and will be postponed again in July....

mafketis

A country in a war with itself

No. It's just the government against the people. The policies have nothing to do with health and everything to do with introducing and enforcing austerity and Chinese style rule by decree (rather than rule by legislation).

It's completely obvious (unless a person is deceiving themselves) that those setting the policy aren't worried at all and never were.

Two people responsible for the dysfunctional policies broke them for booty calls.... (Ferguson and Hancock).

Lots of other examples of people in government obviously not the slightest bit worried (whereas if they were really worried they'd be walking over dead bodies to get to safety).

Some experts who had Johnson & Johnson's single dose vaccine are now getting extra shots of Pfizer or Moderna to try to protect against the Delta variant.

Novichok
29 Jun 2021  #6720

No. It's just the government against the people.

That wouldn't be so bad. Tyrannies by the ruling class have a way of ending tragically for the ruling scum as it did in 1789 and 1917. The problem today is that the ruling class has the support of enough obedient morons to call it a mandate and feel safe. It's actually even worse since the obedient morons are now the mask and distance enforcers themselves. I see them every day.
