Coronavirus in Poland

The head of the WHO has acknowledged that there is no such thing as the 'end of the pandemic' and that vaccines won't put a stop to it. Basically it's just a pig of a disease to file under 'things that can kill you' especially if you are old, already ill or have a compromised immune system. At this stage I'd be very surprised if there is any average person with a normal range of activity and social interaction, who hasn't been exposed to at least one variant of covid.

The virus is here to stay, so are the masks. We will have get used to people wearing them, like in Asia.

Other people won't and that's their choice actually too....no need to fight each other!

We can go back to the very beginning of this threat where most all us of agreed that in due time every single person on this earth will get Covid.

And remember, less then .01 % are dying a year later from Covid because of what we have learned so far.
All the vaccines and masks are doing is slowing the spread so our healthcare systems can keep up.
What I can't understand is if what they say is true, why isn't this slowing down.
They say if you have had it or if you have been vaccinated you are safe from dying or going to the hospital.
With the millions that have tested positive and that have been given the vaccine, WHY is Covid still out of control to the point that it is ?

The self serving morons that refuse to help by getting vaccinated or wear masks is my guess.

Here is a novel idea...How about leaving how we behave up to the individual people. Some drink, smoke, eat like pigs and have abortions...all of those activities have some impact on others. When a 400-pound pig takes a seat next to me, I have less elbow room and, for the duration, I am screwed. I also have to pay for the extra fuel the plane needs to carry said pig. Just one example...

And then there is socializing...Many couples are happily married because one of them smiled and the other one smiled back. That smile and the small talk are gone now. That is why the young rebel against mask fascists, and pack the sporting events and bars. Ideally, they will help spread the virus and let nature sort things out. Good. I am proud of them.

The trouble with influenza is that a) there are several different strains, with the annual vaccine being designed against the most common one, however said vaccine may not protect as well against other variants b) old people have a compromised immune system which means that vaccines are not that effective. The vaccine does give them a fighting chance, but it is far from perfect. Hence it would make perfect sense to make masks mandatory inside retirement homes, at least during flu season. And hospitals should demand masks period, since there are so many people with compromised immune systems. There is no way you can make a moral argument against wearing a mask for 30 minutes in order to protect other vulnerable people, including those you are there to visit.


Having suffered through Covid is no guarantee that you are safe, there are numerous cases of people catching it 2 or 3 times, with the Delta variant often being more deadly even to those who had already gone through it. You can observe this in Brazil, where cities which had a terrible first wave suffered an even worse second one.

Delta carries a higher virus load....means it's alot heavier on the immune system...

I was in the hospital today and some old guy was sitting all by himself in the waiting room not wearing a mask.
I ask the security why they didn't make him put one on and they said because he was mental and had crapped his pants and no one wanted to get near him.

When I came out he was gone and security said that they put him in a straight jacket and took him away as he was screaming something about the Polish Forum morons.

They had to disinfect the whole area afterwards.

I don't consider myself an anti-vaxxer. To be honest, I'm quite unsure about the whole deal myself. But there are some risks which are acknowledged even by the sources that tell you to get vaccinated, you just have to dig a little deeper. There's some inconsistencies and questionable choices when it comes to the allocation of funding (a lot for vaccines, very little for therapeutics), potential conflicts of interests for the people involved and data being treated differently. For example, Ivermectin now has a lot of studies regarding the potential efficacy as a treatment for Covid but pretty much all of it is discarded by the WHO and other institutions because none of the studies are high confidence, most are of low or medium confidence. That would be fine but in other fields like masks very low quality studies - no control group, not blinded, not randomized, either collected through online polls or after the mandates were already in place - get cited as a reason to use them. Also, the vaccine trials effectively had no control group, so we don't know if they actually work and to what extent. We don't know how much of the population has already acquired natural immunity so the general decrease of everything Covid related might've been achieved just as well without the vaccine. Point is, we don't know and you're not allowed to ask these questions or you're labeled a conspiracy theorist or antiscience or whatever.

To sum it up, I know that I don't know a lot of things and I find it very frustrating that I can't ask any questions because I'll either be shamed into silence or outright censored. Meanwhile, the Polishforums might or might not be an insane asylum, the worst that will happen here is getting some negative responses. Try going against the prevailing narrative in any place that forces compliance to what the experts are supposedly saying. You'll be asked by staff to renounce your views, clarify that you indeed 'trust the science' and that 'the science is settled' or face the consequences.

I don't like the pressuring behaviour of the government, I see experts making errors and re-adjusting their conclusions, I don't trust the current vaccine, but I trust the masks. They are after all around for awhile, long before the virus....alot of people depended on them, for dangerous and dirty jobs etc....they have been developed and tested and proven their worth for decades...all bevor the currant bruhaha....they are a trusty weapon!

And the claim that masks don't restrict is a damn lie. Try to run with one on and without and you don't need a million-dollar study to find out that they do. In fact, if you google "who should not wear a mask" you will get "those who have a hard time breathing". Yet, when I am told to put it on they never ask me if I can breathe easily. All I get is "it's the rule" when I ask "medical practitioners" if there are any exceptions. My health does not mean anything to the mask brown shirts.
