I think I have an answer to that. Scientists still disagree on how long it takes to fully recover from Covid on average, which also includes no longer being a possible spreader of the disease. Some countries now list people as infected for 3-4 weeks after the diagnosis, perhaps Poland does the same?

It's more a case of someone messing up back in June/July when case numbers were rapidly falling and not removing people from the infected lists at all. Even allowing for the 3-4 (or more) weeks the numbers made no sense (calculated by the methods the government was supposed to be using). But the current Polish government is not... inclined.... to admit mistakes and so they just remained really high.

Never attribute method to something that PiS does that can be explained by simple incompetence.

maybe it's just long covid cases added into the equation - like people being on sick leave because of covid (for statistical and whatever other reasons)

Cats do like weed, however there's no point taking Ivermectin for a virus like Covid. It is an antihelminthic.

I have some in the kitchen drawer for worming a czworonóg (its main use). Every vet sells it, every chemist stocks it too. Nobody is suppressing it and the pharmaceutical company who make it would doubtless be glad of your money. It doesn't have any connection to Covid though.

No, I've never heard it mentioned on television (and don't watch TV). I've got some from the vet as an animal worming tablet (its main use) and have come across it in Africa (where parasitic infections are common) and while working as a special ed teacher (ditto).

It's not used for Covid though. If it were anything as useful as deranged youtubers, covid-deniers, anti-vaxxer and sundty conspiraloon cranks suggested, we'd be seeing a lot more of it.

The vaccine was probably helpful for older and more vulnerable people but the drive to vaccinate the young and healthy (at very low risk) is probably... not a good idea.

No one healthy under 20 (or maybe 30) should be vaccinated.

One tragic case hardly justifies such a decision, especially when compared to thousands of children and young adult who have had severe cases of Covid with possible long-term consequences.

references? I've yet to see a credible source that indicates large numbers of children (who didn't have severe conditions already) catching covid.

you may want to look into how many schools had to close because of outbreaks. Poland is having lots close already for the second year in a row. As for athletes, almost every professional league in every sport has mandated vaccination. Next to zero complications.

do you think children with negligible symptoms can't be vectors? I haven't read on the subject

Now consider that without vaccination, most children will end up getting Covid and you have hundreds of thousands or even millions who will suffer long-term effects. Loss of taste and smell is already bad when it afflicts adults, but with children it is tragic. My aunt is a teacher who in her school had an outbreak of Covid in her class a few months ago. She told me that 3 children in her class still have not regained their sense of smell and taste.
