Coronavirus in Poland

even more across Austria....protesting the announced vaccine mandate starting in February

TVN kept repeating that virtually everyone in Austria is in favor of vaxx mandates, showing interviews with "random Austrians" praising government for it. Pointing that PiS should do the same.

Now Austria is mysteriously absent from the news

Most probably are.

Now Austria is mysteriously absent

Not so mysterious. More because there are no new developments there and plenty elsewhere.

Some people will always pretend there's a conspiracy.

as a moral panic... which cannot be maintained for more than about 18 months (give or take a few).

I like that term - moral panic. Like with diving, you can hold your breath under swamp water because of mosquitos only for so long until you say "fu*ck it. I am coming up..." With covid, we have reached this point.

to take this seriously

Governments are certainly taking it seriously; fortunately so far the signs are that it is more contagious but less virulent, hence the very 'softly-softly' approach to it, There is also a timeline for vaccine research. The UK's new antiviral drug Spy-Dex is also key to beating it.

TVN kept repeating that

Yeah that's complete BS. The media is barely covering all the protests whether it's Austria, Australia, USA, France, etc.

And yes, sadly PiS would do the same. I doubt Konfederacja would though...

The media is barely covering

Another proof that nothing has changed since the fall of communism. "Journalists" are still lapdogs and the Western voters have as much control as in the USSR. Except that the borders are now wide open and nobody is enforcing the laws other than lockdowns and masks.

Dirk diggler

nobody is enforcing the laws other than lockdowns and masks.

That's the sad part. Cops are going after businesses not following mandates and do nothing about the more serious crimes that at least around here have skyrocketed - car jackings, armed robbery, murder, etc. Only about 20% of murders are solved... that's just ridiculous...

Cops are going after businesses not following mandates and do nothing about the more serious crimes

Small brick and mortar businesses have been marked for elimination by governments (and so rules/laws for them will be arbitrary an punitive and strictly enforced) and similarly governments are not interested in providing security for citizens (anybody who's anybody makes their own private arrangements).

WUT????

Really?

@mafketis
It is not small brick and mortar stores, it is shopping malls that are marked for extinction. But this is only an acceleration of what was already coming. This too is more for North America than Europe at first. Shopping malls take up valuable real estate that can be used for more profitable purposes.

Observation after walking outside yesterday. Maybe 1 in 20 people wearing masks in public as the government has required. In the shopping mall its 50%. Poles for the most part no longer GAF about rules or COVID. Bravo.

Guys i m worried about my trip.. i need to book the train or bus from Krakow to Wroclaw and from Wroclaw to Warsaw, also i want to be sure for the hotels... i will be in Poland from 4-12 December.. do you have any updated news?

Dirk diggler
29 Nov 2021  #8922

Small brick and mortar businesses

Yup. When covid was first going around and there were lockdowns the cops were constantly going after small businesses for various covid violations and never stepping foot into a blue chip company's stores i.e. Walmart.

Poles for the most part no longer GAF about rules or COVID.

Bravo.

Indeed. That made me smile = )

I really wanted to go to Poland for Christmas but from what I understand there's a 10 day quarantine (can be reduced to 7 per negative test) even for PL citizens.

mafketis
29 Nov 2021  #8923

Really?

today's numbers

26.6 % percent of 51,167 tests,

hospitalized: 20,521

ICU: 1820

daily deaths: 18 (13 with co-morbidities)

7 day average deaths: 317

Not if youre vaxxed. don't like it? tough ****.

Novichok

Not if youre vaxxed

And if I am vaxxed, then what? I am not a spreader? Is this their concern?

PolAmKrakow
29 Nov 2021  #8926

@Dirk diggler
No quarantine if vaxed. And if you spread no, none of us GAF any more.

Most probably are.

Except for these hundreds thousands that are taking up the streets with protests. The ones that are mysteriously absent from the news.
If not for the outlets like bitchute no one would know about it.

Except for these hundreds thousands that are taking up the streets with protests.

The thing I don't like is that they are too peaceful. The covid mafia needs a more convincing message.

taking up the streets with protests

Hardly 'taking up the streets' at all. Sporadic protests, largely in places that have a tradition of that.

mysteriously absent from the new

Except they aren't; the few protests that have occurred have all been reported.

I'm pleased to see that the UK and Poland are taking a serious yet cautious and restrained approach to the latest developments.

Hardly 'taking up the streets' at all.

The political scum knows what you refuse to admit. It's the ratio of what you see to what you don't. For every one out there, there are thousands of gutless wonders who cheer them on from the couch.

Later, they may even be brave enough to vote based on how they feel.

Poland has announced the new measures. Not strict ones:

"Quarantine for people travelling to Poland from outside the EU's passport-free Schengen zone will be extended to 14 days if they are unvaccinated, with a possibility of release after a negative test taken no earlier than eight days in quarantine."

also:

"The current 75-percent customer caps in cinemas, theatres, restaurants and bars, hotels and churches will be tightened to 50 percent, but will not apply to vaccinated people,"

There are also some restrictions about wedding receptions, however of course it isn't the season for those.

but will not apply to vaccinated people

They are infected spreaders too.....

jon357
29 Nov 2021  #8933

Quite, though of course not as vulnerable to serious effects as others. Much of the restriction is about that.

Good that it's not another lockdown which nobody wants.

Novichok
29 Nov 2021  #8934

So vaccines do not help contain the virus. Good to know.
If that's the case, why do airlines give a damn if their passengers are vaccinated or not?

amiga500
29 Nov 2021  #8935

why do airlines give a damn

why do you care?, since you have no need or desire to ever fly to poland again.

The Covid 'crisis' is a multifaceted operation (big money making scheme and switch to authoritarian measures : 'dictature is ok if it saves lives') and each facet is worth pursuing the truth in. But one of the main aspect is the hard technocratic push to take over what remains of the medical field and to place that directly under control of Big Pharma through hyper-centralized, supra national entities like the WHO. I am sure there are a bunch of doctors who have banded together in your country to try and give a different perspective on covid, by creating re-information platforms. Most notably on how the perception of the epidemic is artificially bloated by mass PCR testing (instead of relying on diagnosis data collected when doctors diagnose their patients), or embargo on potential treatments like Ivermectin and others as vaccine alternatives. Supporting those initiatives is really important. There are still doctors who care about their patients enough to not just apply a set of centralized orders and rules.

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year 2021

merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/word-of-the-year/vaccine

Drum roll.......

Word of the Year: Vaccine

tadaaaaaa

In everyday use, words are useful tools that communicate assertions, ideas, aspirations, and uncertainties. But they can also become vehicles for ideological conflict.

This is what happened to vaccine in 2021. The promising medical solution to the pandemic that upended our lives in 2020 also became a political argument and source of division. The biggest science story of our time quickly became the biggest debate in our country, and the word at the center of both stories is vaccine......

How about the word "OMICRON" ?
As in the new variant of Covid.....Omicron.
Mix the letters up in OMICRON and they come out to spell "MORONIC".
Hoot !

Bratwurst Boy

Very interesting!

South African doctor who first spotted the Covid omicron variant says symptoms seem 'mild' so far

cnbc.com/2021/11/29/omicron-covid-variant-symptoms-heres-what-we-know-so-far.html

..."It actually started with a male patient who's around the age of 33 ... and he said to me that he's just [been] extremely tired for the past few days and he's got these body aches and pains with a bit of a headache," she told the BBC.

The patient didn't have a sore throat, she said, but more of a "scratchy throat" but no cough or loss of taste or smell - symptoms that have been associated with previous strains of the coronavirus....

Other patients Coetzee had seen so far with the omicron variant had also experienced what she described as "extremely mild" symptoms, and she added that her colleagues had noted similar cases.

"What we are seeing clinically in South Africa - and remember I'm at the epicenter of this where I'm practicing - is extremely mild, for us [these are] mild cases. We haven't admitted anyone, I've spoken to other colleagues of mine and they give the same picture."....

Couldn't that be our chance to end all measures and get everybody infected with that seemingly very mild mutation? Then all would be immunized naturally...and that pandemia panic would be over.....that virus becoming just another yearly annoyance like the Flu!

mafketis
30 Nov 2021  #8940

our chance to end all measures

How does this enrich Big Pharma? The EU is _still_ refusing to relax IP regulations for these crappy therapeutics (not really vaccines in any traditional sense) so.

Again, I'll take this whole boondoggle seriously when governments do (and simply aping CCP policy is not serious).
