Today's numbers (along with occasional helpful context)
Weirdness today as the number of new infections is given differently in two different places in the announcements today... I'll go with the higher here so that I can't be accused of downplaying the terrible seriousness yada yada yada
29.5 % positive results out of 82,800 tests...
The 7 day moving average of cases peaked on February 02 and has started to decline... how long will this last?
Maybe lower vaccination rates are a blessing in disguise? There's some evidence that omicron... flourishes more easily in the vaccinated... weird? what do you expect from a lab-grown virus and a crappy, not-very-good therapeutic masquerading as a vaccine....
NEW NUMBER: 2427 reinfections! yeah!
hospitalizations +626 to 18,287 .... still not sure on the percentages of 'admitted due to covid' vs 'tested positive after being admitted for something else'... that would be helpful to know.... so of course there's no information available...
ICU: +35 to 1150
deaths: 10 (9 with comorbidities)
daily deaths (7 day moving average): -5 to 205
