Coronavirus in Poland

I heard a real horror story today about a good friend (having Chemo now) who started to show Covid symptoms. Ringing round every hospital plus the ambulance service and being fobbed off by them all. She was in a bad way. In the end her son managed to get an ambulance. It was a military one with soldiers in full PPE.

By the way, she's a Doctor.

I have spent months in Polish hospitals and compassion is something that was always in short supply, this is before the virus, I would hate anyone to have to die alone in a Polish hospital god bless their souls.

Things here develop positive. Infection rate slows down further . It went from 4 days to 7 days.

Bit concerned that Poland is one of the only big countries where the curve of new infections is going up - maybe next week will be bad ?

In the U.S. people are ignoring such orders from the authorities.
Some are begging for our government to challenge them just so they can sue the government like some of the churches are obviously doing.

Anyone that ignores these orders should be refused any medical help when they get it.

Sat April 4th will be the last flight to the USA from Warsaw.LOT is flying only to Miami or Chicago,and then no flights for indefinite period.I am debating to go or stay here then fly to Chicago to Nj again.

New York and New Jersey are just starting to peak with people fleeing those States in droves.
Now they are saying that Chicago could be the next hotspot.
If I were you I would stay put as it is much safer in Poland.

We all 4 are in diff states,Kids in VA & Texas,wife in Nj and me here in Poland.I think I will stay here indefinitely.Any tenant that asks I give them a break for rent free in US & here.NY just announced no evictions for 3 months.

I thought about going back too. I was advised by my sister who is ER Doc in NYC to stay in Poland. NY not even close to peak yet, still two weeks away. Detroit is a disaster, Boston is a disaster, and Chicago is not far behind. Business associates in all three cities wishing they stayed in Europe now.

No way I am getting on a plane before June or July at this point.

I heard about that cruise ship that nobody wants to let into port. Who in their right mind would go on a cruise right now? I never have been a cruise before and never had the desire to to so, and after the china virus attack, forget about it!

Everything in Chicago is closed down except gas stations and grocery stores. I went this morning, not many ppl shopping.

The few italians and french they did fly here were nothing but a PR stunt. They give a **** about them. You must understand one thing about german hypermoralism. It doesnt care about the people. Its just about own ego. They also give a **** about Holocaust or refugees. Its just to shine. Once nobody looks, they dont care if those die.

That said, we have very much intensive care units. If things get serious, i expect they kick the spaghetti and frogs out of the beds.

Budweiser at Biedronka the other day. I had a six of Corona just because. Since my Europe spring travel plans are screwed now, I am traveling via red wine. France and Georgia were great.

A government official has just informed they will tighten the quarantine from tomorrow. Even long walks will be banned.
