Poland under pressure of EU to accept more asylum seeking refugees

Levi said awhile back......."Remembering that the bulk of those immigrants come from countries dominated by Islamist Radical factions that have the declared purpose of infiltrate in Europe, like Al Shabab (somalia) or Boko Haram (Nigeria and Chad)."

Seems to me Poland had an 'underground' that fought in WWII, with or without weapons they proved fairly effective...
my question is why are these people NOT fighting to save their own Nation from these 'radicals'?
AND WHY WOULD THEY EVEN WANT TO COME TO A PREDOMINATELY CATHOLIC COUNTRY?...
INFILTRATION...IT'S EASIER THAN WAR.....

Well, the commissioners are appointed by democratic governments and are relatively easy to remove when their term of office ends. But no sinister 'elite'...

How many members of the general public, or, even civil servants, are immune from prosecution or investigation?. If the EU are so beneficial and caring about the general public, why did they need to buy 80 bullet proof cars with the taxpayers money?

Why do they not have to provide any invoices for their expenses? Why is the only "true" duty free shop in the whole of Europe in the European Parliament?

Why are they allowed to pay a preferential income tax rate of 13%. (I would have liked that when I had my own business).
How many normal people get pension pots of millions for 10 years of irresponsible, work?
Its easy to tell countries and people to accept different cultures and levels of so called, civilised society, when, you do not have to mix or live with them. These migrants will not be placed into the posher areas of Warsaw or Krakow, they will be slapped into the middle of the poorer areas where the lives of bottom of Polish society will be made even worse.

I have been told, although I have no idea yet, if it is true, that the families/people found places in Poland are to be given a flat and 3000 zloty per month.

I know families here that have to survive on a lot less than that.
What happens when the migrants placed here find out that their compatriots in the UK, Germany and France etc, are receiving more financial benefits and they start complaining to the European Court of Human Rights that they are not being treated equally.

Too many things can go wrong when no thought has gone into admitting this influx of people in such a short space of time. No infrastructure is in place to cope with these numbers.

So you'd feed guests mush?

Did you look at the food being prepared? And the naively trusting volunteers making it for the poor refugees? It's kind of funny in a way.

Who posts those videos to YouTube?

Who cares? The question is are they accurate?

Did you look at the food being prepared?

Did you? After all, you seem to think it's relevant to Poland's humanitarian role in the current crisis.

Who cares? The question is are they accurate?

We should all care, and no, they are not 'accurate'; they are highly skewed and about as representative as the current situation for Poland as any other camera pointed as someone in France for two minutes.

you seem to think it's relevant to Poland's humanitarian role in the current crisis.

I think that looking at how migrants behave elsewhere is likely to give us a clue as to how they will behave in Poland. You apparently think .... what? What do you think will happen to refugees/migrants in Poland? Will it be possible to house and feed them to their satisfaction?

Why are they [EU top bureaocrats] allowed to pay a preferential income tax rate of 13%. (I would have liked that when I had my own business). How many normal people get pension pots of millions for 10 years of irresponsible, work?

That's the point. No wonder they are so generous to immigrants. It seems the EU top officials have lost contact with reality and they just think that everyone else lives the same standard of life as them or only slightly worse.

These migrants will not be placed into the posher areas of Warsaw or Krakow, they will be slapped into the middle of the poorer areas where the lives of bottom of Polish society will be made even worse.

I totally agree. They will certainly not be placed in areas like Jana Pawła Street in Warsaw, in spite of the fact that flats of 22 sq m can be found there as well.

Exactly the reason we should manage the situation properly.

But can you trust the authorities to do this properly. Will Poland be testing these migrants for any infectious diseases, TB, HIV etc. The UK had eradicated TB but due to immigration from Pakistan and other areas where there is no inoculation programme, it has now re-appeared in many areas in the North of the Country. Parents send their children to school in the belief that they will be safe, knowing the worst they can catch is nits.

new wave of refugees

At the Krynica Econ Forum President Duda was reported by GW as saying:
"Refugee quotas are a bad idea. I do not agree to the dictate of EU's powerful. Without a doubt those people must be helped but that cannot be done without taking the specifics of individual states into account."

It's not truth what they say in CBN news that the right wing party now is the most popular in Sweden, if they were they would have got more than 13% votes. There is still hope for Poland but not for Sweden.

That's hardly surprising given that this "news" channel is run by a fundamentalist christian organisation founded by the egregious Pat Robertson.

Which is still better than "Gazeta wyborcza" "TVN" "The Guardian" who give twisted information over and over again.

Polonius3

"Gazeta wyborcza"

So what? Wyborcza is run by the Jew-dominated Agora corporation. Everything is run by someone or something! And as such they present their own specific point of view.

Wulkan

And as such they present their own specific point of view.

Yep, anti-Europe point of view.

jon357

They're all very European, and present a fairly normal outlook. perhaps you'd prefer only the anti-immigration press to have a voice.

too bad majority thinks otherwise

jon357
8 Sep 2015  #676

Interesting that you think major newspapers and TV stations are against a majority viewpoint, however never fear - policy on refugees is made by the articulate readers of those organs so you don't need to worry about trying to make policy decisions yourself.

Interesting that you think major newspapers and TV stations are against a majority viewpoint

Yes, just like during communism, TV stations were saying that Soviet union is good, did the viewers think the same? I don't think so.

jon357
8 Sep 2015  #678

just like during communism,

So you think that fiercely independent ,media outlets are the same as your communist TV in respect of the refugee crisis?

democracy

Don't confuse democracy with mob rule - in fact democratic structures exist to prevent that. One reason the Daily Mail readers and their Polish equivalents whinge and whine loudly at the thought of their country talking part in unselfish humanitarian action but ultimately achieve nothing. I suppose it gives them even more to whine about.

gumishu

Don't confuse democracy with mob rule

democracy from the origins of the word is rule of the people - if you are against rule of the people then you are against true democracy - you may call the people a mob sure - but it only shows that you are an elitist not supporter of democracy

jon357
8 Sep 2015  #680

rule of the people

So you think that's the same as mob rule, and that because the bloke in the pub doesn't like people with dark skin the whole democratic mechanism should grind to a halt? That all the elected politicians should suddenly resign and let chaos rule because of online comments from people who probably didn't bother to turn out and vote in the first place? Come off it.

you are an elitist

At least on here you got something right.

And whine though you may, the refugees are still coming and no, they will not be turned away.

gumishu
8 Sep 2015  #681

they will not be turned away.

if there was will they would be turned away - as they are mostly young men (like 80 per cent of them)

and well thousands will be turned away as there will be selection of true refugees and economical migrants

Wulkan
8 Sep 2015  #682

and that because the bloke in the pub doesn't like people with dark skin

what that has to do with anything? you're twisting things

because of online comments from people who probably didn't bother to turn out and vote in the first place?

If they didn't, they surely will vote this time and the big change will come.

jon357

Naively idealistic faith in bureaucracy, however the reality is turning out rather differently, however much you feel threatened by that.

As I've said in an earlier post, it's not where the people are put but where THEY want to be, 25,000 in Poland today, going west by Friday, if not earlier.

I totally agree with Avalon's earlier post, HIV, Aids, TB, Ebola etc..... how do you screen that many people. Cases of TB already found in the UK.

It seems the ''leaders'' politicians have lost touch with reality with no one prepared to say exactly what they think for fear of being considered a ''racist'' depending on your age just think what has disappeared in the name of racism, gollywogs off jam jars, black and white minstrel show, kids singing eeny meeny minee moe, baa baa black sheep, this list is endless.

The Americans have it right (although I'm not a great lover of Americans) ''a security risk to our nation'' bang on.

Don't forget that these ''refugees'' are not going to be living in Surrey or Berkshire, they're going to end up in some inner city slum adding to the problems that already exist in those area's. It's again a case of, of course we'll take them but not on my doorstep.

Like most migrants they will group together with fellow countrymen where they feel most comfortable regarding language, culture etc.... an area of Leeds has such a high proportion of Roma living there that it is an almost ''no go area'' for the police. We already have cases of Iraq's fighting with Afghans, Afghans fighting with Pakistanis'

We'll see how happy the tree huggers are when we have the 1st BOOOOM and it is only a matter of time, although that said it reminds my of the quote, keep your friends close and your enemies closer hmmmm.

Just a final thought, when was the last time anyone heard of a Catholic, Mormon, Jewish suicide bomber, remember, not all Muslims are suicide bombers but it seems most if not all suicide bombers are Muslims.

One can say an 80-million-strong country such as Germany can easily absorb a "mere" 800,000 refugees, but will it end there? T

800,000 this year. I bet at least 700,000 are men. They will bring their wives/children soon so you can easily multiply that number by at least 3. Add to it more men coming over, who in turn will bring their families over. This is insanity.

Except that Warsaw gets my tax money and waste it on miners and policeman who retire at 35

Retirement age is actually 42 for police officers and it is not a full retirement, only 50%. Still a problem nonetheless.

no one prepared to say exactly what they think for fear of being considered a ''racist''

That's how Rotherham (and the other under reported examples) happened.

Could Rotherham happen in Poland? What would the Polish reaction be?

jon357
8 Sep 2015  #687

The Rotherham thing was much exaggerated and nothing at all to do with Poland's humanitarian role in the refugee crisis. Unless you just get all worked up about immigration.

Dougpol1
8 Sep 2015  #688

not a full retirement, only 50%

Thanks for that. But policemen doing 50 per cent of what they miserably call a shift as "young" men: *( The mind boggles. Communism lives.

Anybody in Poland who has actually called the police out to help them knows what I mean.

Mind you - our house was burgled in London once (knife crime). It took the pigs SIX hours to bother to put in a visit, so maybe the poor Polish policeman on his silly wages deserves a semi retirement on 80 per cent or whatever it is.

Get Syrians on the job - they'll graft at it. More to the point, let's let the Ukrainians stay and help build the economy. The simple reason why Poland is still way too poor is that the country is grossly under-populated.

( *42 is considered young in western Europe, where people don't generally intentionally damage themselves drinking vodka and eating pig fat)

Wow, I'm not going read all post but I must say that there is help and helping and there is madness. Seems like must be mad. I don't get it, what it all about forcing countries to help, isn't help is somthing given freely or not at all. Anyway how the eu mean to keep them refugees in Poland? BY force in or Poles suppose to pay them for luxurious accommodation, quotas for Poland make no sense but than the Europe hardly makes sense nowadays.

Uk UK may choose to vote out the Europe in 2017 if that madness and importing Muslim will continue.

It appears that the official green/red answer will only happen after elections next month. For now, a small patch on the wound will make do. Bored of looking at people that know nothing about the subject and mostly don't even live in Poland copying neo nazi style propaganda onto the forum. How many Polish economic migrants are out of Poland right now? What about the Polonia hailing from America? Aren't your ancestors refugees or economic migrants? What makes you different? Your supposed religion? Your skin color? Well guess what, that has no place in modern Europe, and that is in Poland's constitution as well as EU laws.

I will come back here when something worth talking about comes up.

P.S. to Admin: very socially irresponsible of you to allow hate speech on here in the name of freedom of speech. People are literally dying under bombs and from starvation and you are chasing after hit rates. SHAME ON YOU.
