sretenjski-ustav-temelj-moderne-srpske-drzave/

Thank you! That's exactly what I have been looking for.

So, it would appear that the black legend of Serbia being intolerant, aggressive and violent country is far from the truth. I can see how the abovementioned fragment of Sretenjski ustav could annoy some people in 1835 (30 years before the end of American Civil War).

Polish language and culture survived mainly thanks to the tolerant policies of A-H

Not necessarily true. Great literary works in the Polish language had been published in the Russian provinces of Poland. To name just a few, they were "Lalka" by Bolesław Prus or "Nad Niemnem" by Eliza Orzeszkowa or "Potop" by Henryk Sienkiewicz whose first book edition appeared in Warsaw in 1886. Besides, neither in the Prussian nor in the Russian partition had Polish been seriously challenged despite efforts of the occupying powers.

Your unmitigated admiration for the Habsburg Empire sounds a bit comical. Has your family originated from the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria (commonly known in the 18th century as a "Królestwo Golicji i Głodomerii" due to an excessive exploitation of the province by the Habsburgs)?

That was the general intention. I thought that the pictures of Franz von Nogay were a rather sufficient indication of the "overall seriousness" of my posts. Apparently not.

One must be rather careful with sophisticated sense of humour on internet fora... I am reminded of this fact on regular basis.

So the sentence of yours that I quoted was a sophisticated irony. If that is the case, my apologies.

There is an excellent podcast called The History of Yugoslavia that I'd recommend to you - historyofyugoslavia.libsyn.com/ - particularly the episodes focusing on 19th century Serbian history. While my knowledge of Serbia is mostly from 1945 onwards, it's really interesting how Serbia broke free of Ottoman rule in phases.

What's nice about the writer/host is that he has no particular sympathy towards anyone in the Balkans, he gives praise and criticises where it's due.

it's really interesting how Serbia broke free of Ottoman rule in phases.

Note that most of Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian revolts against Ottomans started from within Serbian land (held by Serbian populace) and was supported by Serbs. Two biggest battles against Turks in the region were Battle on Kosovo, 1389 Serbs vs Turks (no real winner but Serbs lost bulk of nobility and fell to semi-vassal status but because Turkish sultan was killed in battle Turkish throne was in unrest for 75 years and no Turkish move on Serbia or deeper in Europe happened for those 75 years). Battle of Kumanovo, 1912 Serbs vs Turks (full Serbian victory) destroyed so called Turkish `European army` and Turks retreated behind Bosporus and established border.

And at the same time, Serbs in A-H were Piedmont for all Slavs within A-H. Later when Serbia got its first stage of independence from Ottomans, Czech Masarik had Serbian passport (few of them) while worked on Czech liberation.

Do you drool at the mouth when you see weapons of war?

Id laugh if it backfires into these punk serb faces! LOL

Serbs shouldn't be allowed to have any weapons at all.

Crow

I post any kind of news here in connection to Serbs.

But, see how are you conditioned to hate Serbs. You see it, don`t you. Yes, it was great investment of certain circles to destroy Serbs, so you are their product. Brainwashed by their mass media. Poor you. They sent worse arab mujaheedines on us, terrorists, depleted uranium bombs, nato and eu combat capacities, war-dogs, local naciz and islamic fanatics.

So we strengthen our defenses now and our diplomacy. And world changed from Uni-Polar to Multi-Polar. And venerable President Trump came.

I'm glad to see that Serbia's back in the realm of producing good, reliable weaponry again. Yugoslavia produced some excellent pieces of hardware, particularly the M-63 Plamen.

VTI has produced a lot of decent equipment in general throughout the years, and I think Serbia's military designers are very talented people.

I didn't hate the serbs until you came around posting all this nonsense propaganda on a Polish forum, where nobody gives a rats ass!

You are not a good ambassador fro the ppl of Serbia, in fact, you have an opposite effect and make them all look like psychotic barbarians. You should be fired!

I'm glad to see that Serbia's back in the realm of producing good,

Why are you glad Serbs have weapons? Until they use them against you... Well, its a good reason for NATO to return and finish the job! LOL

People would treat you more seriously if you didn't make such blatantly idiotic statements.

It never ends with this diatribe....
I wonder why Crow is allowed to continuously post his war mongering, such as photos of tanks, missiles launchings and other acts of promoting violence, without any repercussions at all.

I do. Serbia is a Slavic country, with a lot of historical connection to Poland. Why shouldn't Crow post here? Poland, as a natural leader of Międzymorze, should be a gravity centre for all Slavic nations, so it makes sense for PolishForums to have posters from Slavic countries. :)

Not really. Most posters come here to find out about Poland, then get bombarded by a Serbian nationalist. The question is: How many decent posters has Cfrow ran off this forum?

In comparison to 400 km it really isn`t far. ``Experts`` said that NORA is good. My congrats to Polish industry.

Yes. We also had and have upgraded version of our own Orao (eagle) NЈ-22 light fighter-bomber >

The base and concussion from it will take the breath right out of you.

Yes, I can imagine. I still remember my first impression when I was in army, during first training of squad in action, when all 22 of us opened fire at fixed targets from (I think it was name) AK-70 A, Yugoslavian version of automatic Kalashnikov with folding stock. For one short moment I stooped firing and looked left and right to the other boys. It was immense firepower. I can only imagine combined artillery firepower.

But NATO bombing gave me picture how it look like when Tomahawk missile explode in relatively small distances. Some who were closer literally got their organs right out of them. Sure, those in center of explosion were vaporized to atoms.

Poland, as a natural leader of Międzymorze, should be a gravity centre for all Slavic nations

Exactly. If we follow idea of `Sarmatism` Poland would have capacity to be center. And, BDW, I contemplated about Krakow as Capital. Good solution I think. So no problem, you hold Capital but then financial center goes to Belgrade- what is also natural, after all.

Just, for the record, be advised that original amber trade route was controlled by ancient Sarmatian (ie Slavic) warlords from what is now Poland and Serbia.

And, West to Poland came from Serbia, not from western Europe. We were even that masochistic to transfer contacts with Greeks and Rome to you. At that time western Europeans were most backward Sarmatians. More western, more backward, more naked. Center was Serbia and name is same now as it was then.

See, how things looks to you, when you look on them from different angle :)

Not really. Most posters come here to find out about Poland,

But all I speak is speaking of Poland, if you look it correctly. You may call me `One who reprimand`.

Joker, give yourself a chance.

Makes sense.

But we have to agree to include Germany in Międzymorze. Hard to imagine Central Europe without them, and their army and economy would be a real boost to our overall potential. So, Kraków - administrative capital, Belgrade - financial centre, Berlin - diplomatic capital. Poles take care of internal cohesion/Slavic unity/transport/food production, Serbs for finances/guarding the southern flank and Germans for diplomacy/industry/Germanic cohesion (Austria would have to be included as well).

It would be like Austro-Hungary, only better! :)

Dude, they should bring back conscription in Poland. 400? - 40km not 400km lol!

Which renders that project void. Unless you what to be a front for German Mitteleuropa.

40km not 400km lol!

In osiągi it says "zasięg: 400 km", but I suppose they meant how far it can go on a full tank of gas. The other "zasięg" indeed says 40km. So, it looks like it's similar to the Serbian weapon. :)

Unless you what to be a front for German Mitteleuropa.

Why not have a combination of Międzymorze and Mitteleuropa - "Double M" - it even sounds cool!

Let's say bye, bye to the French and all their southern debt-ridden friends, and create something really powerful! Leave some reliable EU members in as well. It would basically be the EU without all the debt, mafia and corruption. How great would that be? :)

Yes, they even had their own fighter jets. Jastreb?

And they were on the way to creating their own 4th generation fighter - the Novi Avion. It was similar to the Rafale, but smaller. If Yugoslavia had survived, I suspect it might have done very well on the export market.

Coincidentally, do you know of this place? zeljava-lybi.com/Zeljava-index2_eng.html - Yugoslavia built a huge underground air base near Bihać. I've been to the site after getting permission from the Croatian border police (you can't cross the border here, but you need permission to approach the border in this place), and it's quite a remarkable place. What's frightening about it is that the temperature drops dramatically as you approach one of the entrances to the base - when I was there, it was ~30c in the middle of the runway, and at the entrance to the underground base, it was cold enough to need a jacket.

The base itself was semi-destroyed when the Yugoslav JNA forces left, as they didn't want it to come under the control of the Croatian and Bosnian forces.

Not at all. *handshake*

Sure you can plot and plan all kind of things in your own mind or on this forum.

Sure. That's what Internet fora are all about. :) Realistically, we have the EU, which is a great project (not perfect, mind you, but nothing is), and every member country should do their utmost to strengthen the Union. We can argue with one another about various things, but against outside threats we should be united and try to maintain internal cohesion. The EU is Europe without borders, without wars, with most countries closely cooperating - we really shouldn't take this for granted.

If Yugoslavia had survived, I suspect it might have done very well on the export market.

Definitely. Their football team was very strong too :)

Coincidentally, do you know of this place? zeljava

Very interesting. Thanks, Delph!
