Coronavirus in Poland

A recipe for hand sanitiser if your local shop's run out. I had to search for this one, unfortunately many of the online recipes are from American 'MLM huns' trying to promote essential oils. No need to use them, better to use one that has a high alcohol content and any neutral-ish gel as a carrier. Spiritus is better than vodka if you don't have a heavier alcohol like isopropyl.

It's so not like the flu....

Please explain as I have heard that you get a very high fever.
Also I heard that children have a higher immune system then old people so children only get moderate short term symptoms.
I also heard that you have to be within one meter of an infected person for two or three minutes to contact it by airborne.

It only lives on metal objects for two to three hours.
Family pets can contract it and spread it.
Nursing homes for the elder is where most of the deaths have occurred.

Where did you hear that?

Apparently all public schools in Italy have been closed for the next two weeks.
The government apparently isn't taking any chances.

@Lyzko

Yes, because 80 people have already died there and infections are increasing faster and faster across Europe.

jon357
4 Mar 2020  #96

Italy are taking it very seriously indeed; it looks like others will start to follow.

Germany and other countries though have been facing a similar spread.

England's chief medical officer has now said a UK epidemic is now highly likely and that people will die.

jon357
4 Mar 2020  #99

Germany and other countries

have reacted less thoroughly.

The main thing is to follow official instructions where appropriate, and be prepared that the situation is always changing.

a UK epidemic is now highly likely

Hopefully people will support the most vulnerable in their communities.

I think they should get rid of all the EU scum that are blocking up the hostels and homeless services and sleeping in the parks, frankly. Mostly from Romania/ Moldova/ Bulgaria etc

They encourage rats and disease.

I am not talking about people with apartments, jobs, children, etc.

Round them up, transport them to holding facility on the south coast, Bexhill perhaps, and get rid of the lot of them.
Scum and diseased suckfish.

From Poland? A long way to take people.

Here, rthey're testing where appropriate, using normal hospital facilities and advising people to stay calm.

ha ha no I was talking about UK, but it was a scenario stolen from 'Children of Men'. Have you seen / read it?

I don't really think that., I was just testing the effect of words.

There is panic buying here in the UK., and even I have inspected my food cupboard for supplies. Is it the same in Poland?

Would you rather have them living and pooping on the streets like they do in America ?
They are not the ones that developed this decease in a test tube to be used as a weapon.
Those are the scum that we need to get rid of.

'Children of Men'.

Anything may yet happen! I read Children of Men a few years ago and liked it; I heard there's a TV version now.

There's so much other apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction now, some of it very good. I like Harvey Black's nuclear trilogy. Unfortunately there are only 2 parts; Trump winning (it would be a spoiler to say why) stymied volume 3...

There are some unofficial online reports of panic buying here in PL, though I've not seen any myself; probably an exaggeration so far. I'm just of to Dealz (belongs to Poundland). I heard online that they've got picallilli and Yorkshire Tea in. If I grab the lot, does that count as panic buying?

As always, best to follow official instructions; and, it's no bad thing if people check up on elderly, infirm, lonely or vulnerable neighbours to see if they need any help.

that is pretty much what they do. Park/streets it's all the same in London tbh.
There are a lot of people that you might describe as 'living on the margins of society' who seem to have washed up in London. Frankly, yes, they do spread disease of one kind or another, and I do think that they should return to whatever European hellhole they sprang from. Although obviously 'rounding them up' might be taking things a bit far.

The TV version is quite different from the book, Jon, although both are good.

It now seems that the Coronavirus is taking hold in Europe and the USA where in the Washington State 11 people have now died. It will be interesting to see how soon numbers of patients will increase in Poland.

the Coronavirus is taking hold in Europe and the USA where in the Washington State 11 people have now died.

Big deal. Quoting: In 2015 around 57 million people died. The world population therefore increased by 84 million in that year (that is an increase of 1.14%).
On top of that micro number, it's the old and useless people who do.

But the ultimate benefit from this non-tragedy is that maybe the US and Europe will finally wake up to the Chinese menace and shut that damn door that the moron Nixon opened because "we can't ignore billion people" .

Yes, we can. Plus we can bring all those manufacturing jobs back home and keep the Chinese spies and the IP thieves away.
So, cheer up. There is a silver lining over the horizon after all...

Good job, virus.

There is a silver lining over the horizon after all...

Yep, were not going to be relying on Chinese made products in the future and bring all the manufacturing back home..MAGA!

To get back ON - Topic........what boggles my mind about the virus is how it has little to no effect on children like they are almost immune to it.

It's funny you mention Romania but avoid blackies from subsaharan Africa that host all kinds of diseases.

And also tlnot just the Blackies but the Pakis and other Muzzies.

In the US, the MSM driven panic is much worst that the virus itself. Youre much more likely to die from influenza than the Coronavirus.

The Dems never miss a change to politicize a crisis, they actually want ppl to die so they can somehow blame it on Trump.

on children like they are almost immune to it.

Some ppl have only a slight headache and a cough that last a few days only.

At least in Poland they dont try and spin it to damage their political enemies......

I love coronavirus.

I do, too.
It ended our love of China as this superior culture and race. Now the world knows that they are filthy pigs that bathe in sewer, eat crap, and steal what is not bolted down solid. Until caught, they would put lead into toys for our kids to lick.

It also will help the white greedy a-holes here realize that making everything there is really a very moronic idea. Like 97% of the world's production of antibiotics.

Quite a bit of drama today at Centralna, with a pendolino sealed by police with the passengers inside. Shows they're taking it seriously.

Spike31
6 Mar 2020  #118

Oh my God, I'm having so much fun with that mass panic over the new virus :-)

Over 34 000 people died in the US only last winter because of a common flu but it's not as catchy as coronavirus.

cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html

I bet even a constipation killed more people since the beginning of the year but mass media will not let go this gold mine which is #coronavirus. Stupidity is the biggest epidemic in the world but there's no cure for fools ;-D

Joker

r but mass media will not let go this gold mine which is #coronavirus.

Just like top (D) Rahm "Deadfish" Emmanuel stated " never let a good crisis go to waste". Most descent ppl come together in a time of crisis, but libtards see it as a chance to weaponize and use it to score cheap political points. Its not working in the USA, most intelligent ppl see right thru the smokescreen and only their snowflake minions cling onto every word the MSM spews out.

Its quite funny watching them blow every topic out of proportion, hoping somehow, someway, it sticks to Trump, but it always backfires in their faces, every single time! Hahahahaha😁

a-holes here realize that making everything there is really a very moronic idea.

It about time they realized we should stop outsourcing and produce the products we need right here in the good ol USA. Like we used too..

Now the world knows that they are filthy pigs that bathe in sew

This virus originated fromBats wtf are these morons doing? Pigs are cleaner than them. Ill never eat in a Chinese restaurant ever again either.

There are right now 9 firms researching and developing a treatment for the coronavirus, but only one of them has been already progressed to phase 3, clinical test trials!

Company: Gilead Sciences Inc.

Type: Treatment

Stage: Phase 3 clinical trials

Name: remdesivir

marketwatch.com/story/these-nine-companies-are-working-on-coronavirus-treatments-or-vaccines-heres-where-things-stand-2020-03-06

1. On Feb. 21, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases started enrolling patients in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 trial evaluating 394 hospitalized patients with COVID-19 at up to 50 sites worldwide. The trial is expected to conclude April 1, 2023. Sites include the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md., (not recruiting), the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha (recruiting), the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston (not recruiting), and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane (recruiting).

2. On March 3, Gilead said a randomized, open-label Phase 3 trial will evaluate remdesivir in 600 patients with moderate COVID-19. The trial is expected to start enrolling patients in March, with results to come in May.

3. On March 3, Gilead said a randomized, open-label Phase 3 trial will evaluate remdesivir in 400 patients with severe COVID-19. The trial is expected to start enrolling patients in March, with results in May.

May isn't that far away....and then the summer comes. There is hope that the virus will vanish due the warmer temperatures till next autumn/winter.
